A few weeks ago Oscar and Archie were sent the My First Scalextric set to review. Archie is absolutely obsessed with cars at the moment and I knew he would love a Scalextric set of his own.
The track is super easy to assemble and only tool a couple of minutes which was good as Archie was hoovering over me in excitement ready to play. It is aimed at children aged 3+ and after a few goes with Oscar teaching him Archie had got it and raced around the track without holding the controller at full speed and crashing.
With a five year age gap between the boys it was nice to watch them play with something properly together and have great fun racing against each other. Within the set comes two rally cars; yellow and red although the set is fully compatible with the Micro Scalextric range of sets and cars, allowing you to extend your track and add new cars. I have brought a few more cars for Archie for Christmas to add to his collection.
Scalextric is one of those toys that every generation of our family has owned. My Dad had a huge track with loads of cars when he was little, then my brother had a track and now my boys. As they get older we want to build a huge track and have a Scalextric room in the loft where they can keep their rack out and race over and over again. Scalextric is a proper traditional family toy that every age group can enjoy and is always a great gift at Christmas as you can have a lots of races with all the family!
The controls have magnatraction technology helps to keep the cars on the track, and variable hand-controllers allow the speed of racing to be adjusted depending on skill level which is great when you have your little racers starting out for the first time.
The My First Scalextric set is only £39.99 and there is free standard delivery over £30! Order now ready for Christmas!

I have used Snapfish for years now and always use their app on my phone to upload my photos into albums ready to use on any of my projects. I have made everything from huge acrylics to photo books. I just love making personalised photo gifts from Snapfish! Every Christmas I make Oscar & Archie calendars for the grandparents so the app is a great way of storing my favourite photos ready to use in the December.
When I was asked to review some of the photo gifts for Greg for Father’s Day I knew straight away what I wanted to order for him. The Snapfish team have also kindly given me a £50 gift card for one of my lucky readers too.
The website is easy to use and I designed Greg a personalised photo mousemat which is new to the Snapfish range, for the office with one of my favourite pictures of the boys on it that was professionally taken a few months ago. Greg loved it and it now has pride of place on his desk. You can choose all sorts of designs, photo configurations and add text to make it as personal as you like. At only £7.99 they are a bargain!
I also made Greg a personalised Father’s Day Card to go with his presents and as always you can pick from tons of different designs, colours, themes, sizes and pick your photo configuration. He loved receiving a card that was personal to him instead of the normal generic cards your can pick up in the shops. It is a card he will keep forever!
Oscar also wanted to pick a couple of pictures to make into acrylic blocks. I love the acrylic blocks as I prefer these to having photos in frames. You can pick between A5 and A6 acrylic blocks. Last Father’s Day I made three of these blocks that Greg has on his desk at work so we knew he would like them. The A6 size is £29.99 and the A5 size is £34.99.
You can also make huge acrylic panels which I ordered a couple of months ago and absolutely love it!
Head over to the Snapfish website and see for yourself how fantastic their range of personalised photo gifts are and all at amazing prices. Don’t forget to enter below to be in with a chance of winning a £50 Snapfish voucher to use too! Good Luck!

Baby Blooms is a brand that I have come across before when I had a baby shower thrown for me when I was pregnant with Archie I was given a gorgeous bouquet of flowers that was made up of bibs and baby grows and two cupcakes that were baby vests. The gifts are so unique and original and look almost to good to use! They make the most gorgeous gifts; hampers, bouquets, nappy cakes, toys and balloons and so much more. It is literally your one stop shop for new baby and new Mum gifts.
When I was recently contacted by them to review one of their gorgeous skincare sets and it came in the most amazing gift box that has been designed and illustrated by Amanda Bradley. The boxes are great to keep your baby memories inside after you have finished using it. Inside my box was the most gorgeous tissue paper wrapped around a organza gift bag that had potpourri attached which made the box smell amazing and inside the bag was a soothing body lotion, replenishing hand cream, rejuvenating facial moisturiser, lip rescue balm and a baby care cream. They all come in gorgeous pots and bottles which are the perfect size to put into your hospital bag or changing bag. Two products I am so pleased I packed into my hospital bag was lip balm and hand cream and used tons of it! They are defiantly a must if you are packing your hospital bag.
This set would make a fantastic baby shower gift or new Mum gift so amongst everything baby Mum can still look and feel great too. All of the products in the Baby Blooms skincare range are handmade and made from natural ingredients and are produced here in the UK.
The replenishing hand cream smells amazing with a refreshing lemongrass scent and contains jojoba which leaves you hands smelling amazing and super soft and moisturised. The hand cream is really light and doesn’t leave your hands feeling tacky afterwards.
The soothing body lotion leaves your skin feeling really soft. After being pregnant for 9 months I have continued to moisturise my skin since having Archie. When I was pregnant I moisturised morning and evening as my skin felt tight and itchy and I wanted to prevent stretch marks. Afterwards I used lots of different body lotions and the Baby Blooms one is by for the most moisturising and the calendula and primrose leave your body smelling amazing.
In the three pots is the lip rescue, baby care cream and the rejuvenating facial moisturiser. They are all 20ml which like I said before are the perfect size for your hospital, changing or handbag. The lip balm leaves your lips feeling soft and nourished and after having a baby your lips can feel so dry so this lip rescue is exactly what you need. Again with the facial moisturiser it is rich and leaves your skin feeling soft and replenished. The baby care cream is fantastic for healing nappy rash, baby eczema and psoriasis. I have also used it on my hands as I get eczema on them now and again and it has helped soothe and repair my skin too.
Baby Blooms make the most fantastic award winning gifts and you can see their full range HERE. I also love their announcement balloons which inside the balloon is a teddy announcing that you are expecting or for a gender reveal. The gifts are truly amazing and you will not be disappointed.

About two months ago I saw a great offer to try out the Sassy Bloom subscription box service for only £1 plus delivery so I thought I would give it a try. From reading reviews on other blogs about how great different monthly subscription boxes are I was eager to see what came inside one of them. Sassy Bloom is available during pregnancy up until your little one is two years old. In case you haven’t read one of my posts this week and already know that Oscar is 4, I am 19 weeks pregnant with baby number two! Each box comes tailored to whether you are pregnant, or the age, developmental stage and gender of your child. When ordering your box Sassy Bloom ask questions like baby’s date of birth or due date, name, sex, is your child breastfeeding or bottle feeding, are you traditional weaning or baby led, whether they have a dummy and whether you use cloth or disposable nappies. This way they can get the contents of your box completely right for you.
My Sassy Bloom box arrived the very next day which really impressed me and came in two parcels! One contained a Cloud B Bubbly Bunny that plays soothing sounds and is very cuddly with a RRP of £24.99! Inside my Sassy Bloom box itself was; A Cuddledry natural sponge RRP £5.00, Waterbaby bloom water RRP £1.50, Shea Mooti’s Mama’s Belly Rub Stretch Mark Oil RRP £14.99, Bath Sea Salts and Twotara reversible pink/blue baby booties RRP £5.00. The box looks great and the contents wrapped in tissue paper and smelt lovely! With a overall total of over £50.00 for a £1 box I grabbed a real bargain and would defiantly order one again. They would also make great gifts.
All boxes contain things with a minimum RRP value of £40. Subscriptions start at just £19.75 a month with free delivery or if you don’t want to subscribe you can buy a one off box for £29.00 and at the moment if your sign up to their newsletter you can grab yourself a 50% off code for your first box. The website is easy to follow and ordering your box only takes a few minutes and your details are saved for next time.
Disclosure: I purchased this box myself after seeing a Sassy Bloom promotion, I have not been asked to write this review and haven’t received anything in exchange for it. All opinions are my completely honest and my own.
I am a big fan of Snapfish, always ordering my yearly ‘Oscar’ calenders (read my review HERE) from them and using the Snapfish app to store all of my photos and share them with our family. When I was asked to review something from their huge collection of photo gifts I immediately chose to make some photo books as I have been meaning to print off some photos and put them in albums for ages now so making a couple of photo books was the perfect solution. I went through all my photos and choose which ones I wanted to use then went through the photo book page by page entering my chosen photos and the page layouts. When choosing your photo book there are lot’s of themes to chose from to make your book personal to you. I have gone for an ordinary looking theme as I wanted the book to look like a photo album.
Making the photo book is so quick and simple, following only a few instructions to make sure you have added all your favourite photos. All of the photos are printed on top quality paper making sure all the photos look great!
I made books, one for 2012 and one for 2013 and I will make sure that I will make one again at the end of the year. Looking back through all of our photos brought back lot’s of amazing memories and that is why I am so pleased to have the best ones in a book to have a look at at any time. Considering everything is individually printed my books came in the post only a few days after ordering them. They would make great gifts for grandparents or to put lot’s of photos together for someones big birthdays like 21st or 50th. I am over the moon with my photo books and the quality of the pictures and will definitely be making books now each year and will be busy now making books for 2010 and 2011.
Save your memories with Sanpfish too as the years fly pass and some of the best photos we found I had forgotten that I had ever taken. There are currently amazing deals running until the 18th May 2014 with up to 70% off photo books. Hurry don’t miss out!

When I was given the opportunity to choose and make a personalised Mother’s Day Locket I was over to the moon and began choosing the perfect pictures to put inside. It was so easy to design and build my own locket and order with a simple step by step instruction guide and preview function to see your design before ordering. The photos that I choose inside are actually embossed into the Silver and look beautiful. You can choose from different fonts and phrases for the front of your locket to suit your personal style. You then choose the length of chain and if you want anything engraved on the back as well, which I did. The build your own locket feature is great fun and you can design great gifts for friends and family.
As Mother’s Day is coming up in the US building a locket for Mother’s Day would make a fantastic gift for your Mum. Giving her something that she will cherish forever and she will truly love. You can use the promo code MOM2014 to save 10% off your order until the 9th May or opt for free shipping with SHIP2014. Considering my locket was sent from America it arrived within just a few days which I was totally shocked and impressed by. The whole process from ordering to my locket being delivered was so easy and quick. So even if you need a last minute gift it will definitely reach you on time as they ship out their orders in just one day! All items come in a nice black gift box and the parcel was well wrapped up.
I am really excited to announce as well that the lovely people at PicturesOnGold have given the chance for one of my readers to win a personalised locket of their own so take a look below at enter. Good Luck.

I’m always so surprised at the great value and quality of the gifts you can get in Poundland! So when my Mother’s Day gift bag of goodies arrived last week I was excited to see what was in it!
For only £5 you can get your Mother’s Day card, gift wrap, gift bag and a couple of gorgeous gifts. Bargain!
In my gorgeous Mum gift bag was a mum porcelain tea light holder, a sweet bear glitter globe, gift wrap sheets complete with tissue paper, bows and gift tags, a jewellery holder and a glass 6″x 4″ frame with the quote ” Mothers, hold their children’s hands for a while, but their hearts forever” on it. I put a nice photo of me, my Mum and my Mother In Law in it.
Mother’s Day is an important day to let your Mum/Mother In Law just how special they are! The days and weeks go past and I know that it’s easy to take your Mum’s for granted. We see our Parents every weekend and my Nannu every Wednesday. Family is so important and I can’t thank our Mum’s enough for everything they do for us.
Head to Poundland this week and spoil your Mum this another’s Day!!
