#Blogmas Day 3: Jump With Santa At Energi Newport

Last Sunday we went to Energi Trampoline Park in Newport, Wales to attend one of their special Christmas Jump With Santa sessions. If you are looking for something special to do with the kids in Newport this Christmas, then Jump With Santa is for you!

Energi Leasuire Parks

When we arrived we were given our special Christmas edition jump socks and were briefed by one of the Energi Elves and we watched the safety video. The children were then allowed onto the trampolines, then a fun video of Santa arriving at the park was played on the big screen and then when all of the children turned around Santa was standing behind them on top of the stairway to heaven.

The children ran over to him in excitement then Santa made a spectacular entrance by flipping into the huge Christmas airbag.

The boys had so much fun jumping, dancing and playing with Santa. It really is something for all the family to do together and enjoy. Sessions are exclusively for Jumpers aged 2 -16 years old. (All Jumpers aged 2 – 4 years must have full parental supervision on the Trampoline Arena). It’s a great way to get your older kids, who wouldn’t normally visit Santa to have some Christmas fun. A few of the older boys were having a dance off with Santa like you can see in the video I made below.

Santa and his Energi Elves danced along with the children, they all joined in to do the conga and the staff kept the kids entertained the whole time. Santa played dodgeball, challenged the kids on the ninja assault course whilst the adults with older children sat back and relaxed in the cafe with a coffee and a slice of cake.

At the end of the session each child were given a cute soft toy! All Jump with Santa Sessions are one hour and priced at £12.95 per child and will include admission to the Trampoline Arena, Christmas Socks and gift from Santa himself. Get Everything You Need For Christmas At Poundland

Last week I went into Poundland to take part in a Christmas challenge as I am a Poundland ambassador. I love these tasks and we always have lot’s of fun doing them. The first thing I looked for was stocking fillers for Oscar. I went to the toy section in the Watford Store and found some amazing bits and pieces. For Oscar’s stocking I brought three Hot Wheels cars, a Father Christmas cup with a straw, a giant tube of smarties, a Mr Men slinky, a gingerbread man bath bomb and two Crayola digi tools sets. I was really pleased at what I got all for only £9.00, saving me a fortune.

I then went to look at the Christmas craft selection which was huge. We brought a lot of Poundland’s craft sets at Easter and had loads of fun making them and they kept Oscar entertained for hours. I let Oscar chose which ones he wanted to do and he picked out six different sets: A make your own fairy tree topper, decorative reindeer lantern, foam snowman, tissue collages, foam decorations and dotty cards. All the kits include everything you need. We also brought bottles of their ready mixed paint as I can get more for my money as in a shop I used to buy it from the same sized bottle is £2.50 each and the quality is exactly the same. I also spotted some ceramic white snowflakes and got them for Oscar to paint and give one to each set of Grandparents for their trees as a gift. There is also a crafting range for adults and loads of great ideas over on Poundland’s You Tube channel. We have already made a few as you can see from the photos below but will spread the rest out over December to have fun arts and crafts to do as Oscar finishes school for Christmas next week!!

Oscar also spotted some magic snow which you add water to ad it expands 100 times in size and a Christmas decorated bowl to mix it in for sensory play. One thing I loved the most when playing with it is that it is completely odourless and washes off hands and clothes easily.

Poundland have a huge array of Christmas decorations from countdown chalkboards to blow up reindeer’s. They literally have everything you can think of to decorate your house. You can see their full Christmas Range HERE. We got some reindeer lights for Oscar’s tree that goes in his bedroom, a light up flashing Father Christmas and Snowman, snowflake battery lights, mini crackers and candy canes for the tree. I love the battery lights, they are the same sort as the skeleton ones we had at Halloween.

I also got a packet of window stickers and have stuck them on my two glass cupboards in the kitchen. From previous experience of buying decorations from Poundland they are really great quality and will last to get out each year and use.

Other things I brought included a Tranformers advent calender that Oscar choose, gravy, after eights, two disposable foil Turkey trays as I get them in Poundland every year and use two as I always end up punching a hole in one with the carving knife and the juices go everywhere! We also got a snowman Santa please stop here sign that we have put out in the garden.

Head to your local Poundland to see their huge Christmas range, stocking fillers, arts and crafts and to pick up your Christmas cooking essentials.

Disclaimer: We were sent vouchers to go into Poundland and purchase the items I have listed, however all opinions are completely honest and my own.

Go Ape Forest Segway Experience Review

When we were recently given the opportunity to review a Go Ape Forest Segway experience Greg and I jumped at the chance and were really excited. Neither of us had been on a Segway before so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. Our local Go Ape experiences are only 20 minutes away at Black Park in Iver, Buckinghamshire and they have both the tree top and Segway experiences. They also offer bike hire which is such a great idea, Black Park is a huge and beautiful park and if you can’t fit the bikes in the car you can still ride a bike around the huge grounds.

When we got to the Go Ape Hut the staff were really friendly and enthusiastic, they clearly love their jobs! We filled in our disclaimer forms and then were kitted out in our helmets then went for our Segway lesson. When I first got on the Segway it was such a strange feeling, I really had to concentrate to learn how to balance myself to go backwards and foreword’s. After going around the training circuit a couple of times you get used to it completely. When the Instructor was happy with us and had given us all the safety instructions we went off into the forest.

I never realised how big and how beautiful Black Park is. Going on a Segway is such a great way of seeing it all! Greg got to grips with it straight away and was taking the Segway to it’s maximum speed of around 12 miles an hour whilst I followed on behind him a little slower. After fifteen minutes though I gained my confidence and was off! You go up hill, down hill, through all the trees and really bump around through the terrain. It is really fun and certainly gets the adrenalin going and I would love to do it again! I now know that Greg would love a Segway for Christmas! It would be great fun to do as a group!
