The Bebylux Alexa Group 123 Car Seat Review

A few months ago an email landed in my inbox that really excited me. It was a husband and wife team that had designed a new brand of car seat that is the first official luxury designer car seat on the market. When I went on to their website to take a look for myself I instantly loved the The Bebylux Alexa Group 123 Car Seat. Finally there was a car seat that not only was super safe and met every safety point possible but it is super stylish and fashionable too.

The Bebylux Alexa is a group 1, 2 and 3 car seat for infants from 9 to 36kgs approximately 1.5 to 12 years old. It literally grows with your child and will last for years!

When you have a baby, if your anything like me you look for a stylish changing bag, dress your baby in gorgeous clothes and spend ages finding the perfect pushchair but then car seats pretty much look the same, feel the same and other than different colours and patterns the variety is pretty boring. With the Bebylux it comes in a gorgeous quilted handcrafted deep padded black bicast leather (very Chanel inspired) with your choice of black, white or red stitching to suit your car’s interior. It is the best looking car seat in years and everyone who has seen it in my car has commented on how nice it is.

The Alexa seat comes in four different designs all with the classic quilted bicast leather. There is the Lusso Bianca which has the white stitching and the Lusso Nero which is the one we have with the black stitching which are £349. There is then the Classico Bianca which is just the plain non quilted leather at £295. The Sportivo collection is race car inspired with the Spotivo Rosso having red leather panels and red stitching and the Spotivo Grigio which has grey panels and are £295. Finally there is the Limited Edition Monza which is £449. If you want to go all out you can have a bespoke Bebylux Alexa made for you which can be encrusted in Swarovski Crystals and you can have you child’s name embossed into the headrest, it is very glam!

One of the best features I have found is that the bicast leather doesn’t feel cold in Winter or get hot in Summer making it a comfortable ride for Archie in all temperatures. The bicast leather is also fantastic and easy to keep clean as it can be wiped over leaving it looking as good as new. The bicast leather is also non flammable.

When I got our Bebylux Alexa out of the box it was inside a gorgeous suede dust bag which also doubles up as a tough travel bag if you needed to take the car seat on holiday with you and didn’t want the leather to get scratched or damaged. Anything with a dust bag is normally expensive and luxurious so it is a really nice added touch.

The Alexa was easy to fit using the Isofix points and the top tether which hooks over the seat into the boot which reduces head excursion in an accident. The seat itself is really comfortable and has impact absorbing foam and memory foam base. The seat/frame is absolutely solid and as soon as you pick the seat up you can feel the sturdiness of it and the quality throughout. The frame has an impact stabilising steel frame throughout the spine of the car seat which as a result reduces the forward flex in an incident.

The car seat has four reclining positions and the head rest has five adjustment levels so as you child grows they can still travel in maximum comfort.

I absolutely love everything about the Bebylux Alexa especially how it is one of the safest car seats on the market and by far the most stylish! The car seats are available now online or are stocked in Harrods.

The Alexa special features are:

  • ECE R44-04 approved

  • ISOFIX and NON-ISOFIX compatible

  • GROUP 123 ( 9 – 36 KG / 9 Months upto 12 Years)

  • Impact absorbing top tether belt tensioning system

  • STEK : 3 Levels of Advanced Side Impact Protection

  • 4 point recline positions

  • 5 point headrest adjustment

  • High quality non flammable bicast leather coverings

  • Easy wipe material

  • Integrated 5 point harness

  • Harness is removed for stage 2 and 3t

  • Tested by TUV to ECE R44/04

  • European Safety Standard

  • Additional Headrest Padding

Graco Modes 3 Lite Trio Travel System Review

As you will have seen before for the last few months we have been a Generation Graco Ambassador. Within this time we have reviewed the Nimble Nook Travel Cot and the Milestone car seat. When we were at the Generation Graco event at London Zoo in September we were given a glimpse of the Modes 3 Lite and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it!

The Modes 3 Lite is a new travel system from Graco that is suitable from birth to 15kg and has seven ways to ride. When it arrived I couldn’t believe how much was in the box, inside there is the main chassis, the Graco SnugRide first stage infant car seat, baby carry cot, toddler seat, rain cover and foot muff. Literally everything you will need from birth until three or 15kg is in the box. I love that just like the Milestone car seat the stroller will last for the whole time you will need a pushchair and grow with your child.

As I mentioned there are seven ways to ride in the Modes 3 Lite using the ClickConnect technology which is absolutely fantastic and makes it so easy and quick to use the travel system. You can attach the infant car seat which can face you or face away from you, or attach the carry cot which again can face you or away from you, attach the infant car seat whilst the toddler seat is on which is great for when your little one is to big for the carrycot but can still fit in the car seat, or the toddler seat can face you or away from you. There are so many possibilities to suit everyone!

Obviously Archie was to big to try out the SnugRide first stage infant car seat and the carry cot as he is now almost two but our closest friends are having a baby next year so I will do another review next year on those. Although I can say that the SnugRide first stage infant car seat is without a doubt the lightest infant car seat I have come across. I wish I had one after I had both of the boys as I had a caesarean with both and carrying the car seat afterwards was quite difficult to start with. It also has a Sun shade hood that can be attached to the carry handle. It is attached into your car using a seat belt and has a three point harness. The carrycot is also really light and has a carry handle conveniently placed on the hood making it easy to carry around. Archie actually climbed into the carrycot and it is massive.

Setting the travel system up was fairly easy and the instructions were clear and easy to follow.

Once I had put the Modes 3 Lite together the first thing I noticed was just how massive the basket underneath is. It is absolutely huge which is great for me as I have Oscar’s school bag, handbag and shopping which fits under easily. It’s that big I am pretty sure I could fit in it! 🙂 I also noticed how sturdy the system is it feels well made and I like that the handle is slightly higher up as I found it comfortable to push and with Greg being 6ft it was high enough for him too. The only thing that would be better was if it was adjustable but it wasn’t a problem for us.

The toddler seat is lovely and wide and Archie looks lovely and comfortable in it. It has a five point harness. The fabrics are luxurious and plush and can easily be moved and are machine washable which is great as I love to keep my pushchair nice and clean. The footplate is also nice and big on the toddler seat and can just be wiped over to clean off the muddy footprints.

The best feature without a doubt is the fast action fold. I actually couldn’t believe just how fast the travel system folded when we were given a demo at the event. It literally takes a second to fold and you can even fold it with the toddler seat still attached. Once folded the travel system is so flat and would fit in any boot, big or small.
I also liked the cup holder so Archie can put his bottle or beaker in whilst were out and about, he also stuffs his dummy and comforter in there too just like he does on the Milestone car seat. It would have been great to have one on the handle too for my drink.

The Graco Modes 3 Lite Trio Travel System is without a shadow of a doubt absolutely amazing value. The complete package has an RRP of £389.99!! Yes only £389.99 you did read that right! Considering everything that is included it is incredible. I know that with other brands you would have to purchase the infant car seat separately, the car seat adaptors, drink holder, footmuff and sometimes the carrycot separately too. Sometimes this can cost in the thousands!

I really think the Graco Modes 3 Lite Trio Travel System is as great as I expected from when I saw the demo. If you are looking for a complete travel system with all the extras that is sturdy and well made, easy and quick to use and won’t break the bank then this really is the one for you! I love it!

Graco Milestone All-In-One Car Seat Review

Since Oscar was a baby and now with Archie we have had a fair few car seats. Some in my car and duplicates in Greg’s. Car seats cost a fortune and changing them when your child reaches different age or weight limit can be expensive. When we went to the Graco ambassador event a few months ago I saw their Milestone All-In-One Car Seat for the very first time. I was shocked when I learnt that the car seat is the only car seat you will ever need to own! This car seat will grow with your child from birth up to 36kg (12 years!) making it one of the only car seats you will ever need which is great.

I love the name of the seat ‘Milestone’ as as a parent you count so many milestones with you children and with these milestones often comes expense… bigger sized clothes and shoes, new toys and of course new car seats, now with the Milestone car seat you can take that off of your ever growing shopping list.

Archie is 23 months old now and was 21 months when we started using our new Milestone car seat. The car seat is easy to fit, it took me about three minutes to fit securely into the car. The convertible car seat has three different modes: transitioning from rear-facing infant car seat (birth to 13kg) to forward-facing 5-point harness seat (9-18kg) to high-back booster (15-36kg). For the best and most comfortable fit for your child, the no re-thread harness system and 10-position headrest allows you to adjust harness and headrest together with just one hand.

Side impact protection provides the best head protection at every stage and features a steel reinforced frame giving you peace of mind that your little one is always safe. The safety features on this car seat are outstanding, we were talked through all the key points and Graco don’t mess around, they have done so much research into making the safest car seat for your precious little bundle.

Another fantastic feature is you don’t have to fiddle around and re-thread the straps as your little one grows, the car seat really does grow with your child in one pull of a button. The headrest has 10 positions for optimum comfort and also has 2 reclining positions so when Archie is tired I can recline it back so he is more comfortable. The seat is so plush and comfortable and has a durable, steel reinforced frame built into the seat provides peace of mind and added safety for your child. It also has side impact protection in the headrest as well. The seat cover comes off easily and can be machine washed and you don’t have to take out the harness to get the cover off it just simply slips over the top. The cup holder is great too, at the moment Archie puts his comforter and dummy in there but as he gets older he can keep his drink bottle in it.

Graco Milestone All-In-One Convertible Car Seat

To sum up I think this is a great car seat and great value too and you can’t beat a product that will grow with your child, save your money and keep your little one nice and safe in the car! It has an RRP of £179.99 but amazon currently has it at an then amazing price of £114.99!

Disclaimer: I was sent the Milestone car seat for the purpose of this review, however all opinions are honest and my own and this is truly a great car seat!

I Am A Generation Graco Ambassador & Our Trip To London Zoo

Generation Graco Badge FINAL

Last weekend we had the most fantastic day at London Zoo thanks to Graco. We arrived there early on the Saturday morning and had a lovely breakfast put on for us and then we were shown the different products in the ‘Generation Graco’ range. It was great to get hands on and be shown by the experts how all the products work and how great they really are. One thing that I came away from the day which really struck a cord it is that Graco products are high end products at affordable prices. Each product from the fantastic milestone car seat which I will have a full review of for you in the next few weeks to smaller products like the Swivi Seat Booster 3-In-1 Booster are all so well made and so durable but the prices truly surprised me, they are such amazing value.

The Milestone car seat for example has a RRP of only £179.99 and is the only car seat you will ever need, lasting from newborn until your highback booster that you would use roughly up until the age of 11 depending an weight. I tried Archie in the car seat and he seemed very comfortable!

We then went outside and watched the Penguin show then had a lovely lunch where Oscar had his face painted as a Tiger. The Graco team and the lovely PR girls were so helpful and the boys loved playing with them. The Graco team also talked through every product with us and the amount of research that has gone into every car seat, stroller etc is astounding.

I then saw Oscar jumping up and down as the children’s animal surprise arrived which he had been so excited about all day, he even trird to get it out of the PR team what the surprise was. Two of the zoo keepers brought two Meerkat’s for the children to look at. We then went off around the zoo for the rest of the day which was really special as Archie is now old enough to get excited about the animals, where as when we had been to the zoo before with him he was only a few months old. His face pressed against the glass with the monkeys on the other side of it was priceless! I also loved seeing the baby Gorilla who was the same age as Archie and also born in December 2014 they were pretty much the same size.

We had such a fantastic day at the zoo and it was also great for me to learn more about Graco as a brand. I am so excited to have been picked as a Generation Graco ambassador and can’t wait to show you my reviews over the next few months and also show you how fantastic all of the Graco products really are!

Thank you Graco and Cohn and Wolfe for such a fantastic day!

Review: Joie i-AnchorSafe™ System Car Seat

I first saw the Joie i-AnchorSafeSystem at the Baby Show back in October last year and as Archie was nearing the end of his stage 1 car seat I thought it looked great and I also loved the Joie look back longer campaign. Joie’s mission is to keep kids safer. For this reason, they have consulted with top doctors and child safety experts worldwide to better understand the effects of a car crash on a child’s growing body. They all agreed rearward facing as long as possible is the safest way to travel for your child. When a child is riding rearward facing, the car seat absorbs the impact, protecting the child’s head, neck and spine even up to a huge 73% more than forward facing. When I was told this information there was no other option to me and Archie was defiantly staying rearward facing as long as it was best for him.

The Joie  i-AnchorSafeSystem is suitable from newborn up to 18kg, which is approximately 4 years old. I also loved that if I had brought this car seat to start with I would have saved money as instead of needing to buy a stage 1 and then a stage 2 car seat the i-AnchorSafe can be used as both. It is also the FIRST UK government certified i-Size ECE R129 child seat and is also designed for the first ride home from hospital as it is the only i-Size seat suitable from birth. You can also use the i-AnchorSafeSystem forward facing to if you want to.

When Joie offered to send us one and the i-AnchorFIX® base I couldn’t wait to get it fitted and get Archie in it, travelling around as safely as possible. The side impact is second to none with a specialised multi-layered foam that is much better for your little ones head, neck and all over protection of even the tiniest newborn riders. I fitted the seat in literally a few minutes, using Isofix is so easy and gives you piece of mind that the base is fitted securely with the green indicators and is completely safe and secure. The seat then slotted easily onto the base and you can choose from 7 recline positions and one-hand headrest and harness height adjustment. I removed the newborn insert and reclined the position to number 1 so it is still tilted back and he isn’t to upright. As he gets bigger I can recline the seat accordingly. Again this was really simple to do with a push of a button. The car seat also has a rebound bar for additional rearward facing security. The safety features of this car seat are amazing.

The quality of the seat itself is luxurious with padded covers that are also really easy to remove and wash. Feeling the material it is so squishy and keeps Archie nice and snug and he looks so comfy in it. It is so snug it is if the seat is tailored just to him.

As you can see above Archie is very pleased with his new car seat! The seat comes in six different colours; Caribbean, Liquorice, Salsa, Walnut, Domino and Steel Grey. Archie’s car seat is in the Liquorice black colour.

We have been using the car seat for just over a month now and I am so pleased with it. I am going to get another identical one for Daddy’s car as it is phenomenal value and will last for another 3 years, (Archie is 1). The car seat is only £175 and the i-Anchor fix base is £115. At Mothercare they have a special offer that when you buy the car seat the i-Anchor fix base is free. There is actually 50% Off Selected Car Seats offer for Mothercare on the My Voucher Codes website. The Joie i-AnchorSafe™ System is also available at Argos, Halfords, Babies R Us and other independent stockists.

I promise you you will be so happy with the Joie i-AnchorSafe™ System and will be assured that you baby is travelling in maximum safety and comfort. Joie are a hugely trusted brand and have done such thorough research and really pulled out all the stops with this car seat in my opinion, it is great!

Check out the Joie website to see their full range of car seats, high chairs, strollers, bouncers, travel cots and travel systems. You won’t be disappointed! The quality of the products are top notch and their products are such fantastic value.
