My Top Christmas Advent Calendars For Kids 2018

With less than one hundred days until Christmas (95 to be precise) and the shops filling up with all their Christmas decorations, I have already started my planning for the festive season. Next week I can book our annual trip to Harrod’s Christmas Grotto and slots are already open with Pines and Needles to book your Christmas Tree delivery, so the planning starts now!

I have been looking at Advent Calendars for both Oscar and Archie. They both get a chocolate calendar and a toy advent calendar. Last year they had a Playmobil one and a Lego one, which they loved!

This year there are so many great advent calendars on the market to choose from but here are my favourites;

This one we will be getting for Oscar as he is Smiggle obsessed. It is £25 and has £40+ worth of goodies inside. If you find one of the 25 lucky tickets hidden inside the Calendars you can win a £500 Smiggle shopping spree! These flew off the shelves last year so your best to buy it now and hide it away.

For Archie this Christmas we have got the Schleich 97702 – Wild Life Advent Calendar 2018. He loves animals and whenever we go to the toy shop he always chooses another Schleich animal to add to his growing collection. It is £24.99 And features 24 compartments containing gifts of Schleich Wildlife toys and accessories. He will love it!

LEGO 60155 City Advent Calendar 2017 Construction Toy. Lego sell a variety of different advent calendars all with 24 gifts inside. We had a Lego one last Christmas and Oscar loved it! They start at around £20.

For the creative children Play-Doh and Crayola have a fantastic advent calendar this year. The Crayola 04-6808-U-000 Christmas Advent Calendar Kit is Packed with craft projects, homemade gifts, finger puppets, and colouring activities, this set helps kids get into the spirit of Christmas. It is £19.99. The  Play-Doh Advent Calendar is £15 and features 24 hidden surprises. The calendar comes with several small pots of Play-Doh including two glittering colours for a festive touch, with a new addition/accessory to discover every day.

Playmobil Advent Calendar Santas Workshop. Playmobil also sell a variety of advent calendars.Oscar has had this one before and over the 24 days you build up a Santa’s workshop play scene. It’s a really lovely calendar! It is £19.99 and has 106 pieces inside.

This advent calendar would have been my dream as a child! The Barbie advent calendar is £35.00. In the Barbie Advent Calendar as well as Barbie herself over the 24 days it includes everything she needs to be a ballerina, baker, ice skater, pet vet and professional skier. It helps kids to understand different careers while living the magic of opening a present each day! I love this one!

This is the perfect advent calendar for your little car lover! It is around £19.99 and Contains 8 different Hot Wheels vehicles, plus stickers and surprise accessories.  Hot Wheels Advent Calendar with Mini Cars Toy Mattel

The Happyland advent calendar is perfect for the younger children from 18 months. It is £25 and as you can see comes with lots of toys inside to make up the Christmas play set. It’s very cute!

So these are my advent favourites for Christmas 2018! I hope you enjoyed the post and maybe have got some inspiration for your little one’s calendar this year. Expect lot’s of Christmas posts coming your way soon!

Fearne By Fearne Cotton For Boots Mini Club Autumn/Winter 2018

Yesterday we drove into London as we were invited by Boots Mini Club to come and see their new Autumn/Winter 2018 collection and the Fearne by Fearne Cotton collection exclusively designed by the gorgeous Fearne herself.

When we arrived there was a huge art and craft station for the kids to get creative at and add their own artwork on a lovely jute bag. Whilst Archie and Oscar were decorating their bags I walked around and looked at the new collection of clothes.

I started off in the baby room which was full of warm and cosy items ready to keep you little ones warm as the weather gets colder. So much extra detail has gone into the baby clothes; everything is 100% cotton for extra softness on delicate skin, everything also has nickle-free poppers to prevent any irritation and inside so you never miss a popper out again one is coloured copper, so you know to ‘always start with the copper popper’. So clever! I can’t tell you the amount of times I did poppers up wrong on sleep suits when changing the boys when I was so tired. One collection has little penguins on it which is so cute and the elephant cuddle robe is just adorable and super soft. For baby girls there are pretty dresses and tights sets and for boys lovely dungarees sets. My favourite is the knit dungarees set its so cute. There is also a Mickey and Minnie collection which is 0-24 months, A Wild World collection full of warm, soft hooded jumpers, bright prints and cosy knits. As well as all of your newborn essentials coming soon to Boots Mini Club is a super delicate premature baby range. I couldn’t believe how tiny the clothes were. I spoke to a lady who was representing Bliss Baby Charity about the importance of soft fabrics and velcro fastenings on premature baby clothes. The clothes open fully flat so you can dress your baby carefully. This will be in stores from the 17th of November.

The Toddler range (18 months to 6 years) again is full of beautiful brightly coloured clothes with bold prints and designs. There are lots of hoodies, cardigans, dress and tights combos, cool tshirts, jeans and jeggings. Everything you need to keep your little one layered up and warm over the colder months. Archie loved the water resistant puddle jumpsuits that neatly fold into itself to make a backpack.

Dare I mention it, Christmas! The Christmas collection and occasional wear is gorgeous. Lovely Christmas jumpers, Christmas pyjamas and party wear for the big day. The Christmas Moments collection also has the cutest bits for babies first Christmas; Mr and Mrs Claus all in ones, my first Christmas sets and Christmas jumpers. Everything you need to dress your little ones up over the festive period.

Ok, I have saved the best until last! The Fearne by Fearne Cotton Autumn/Winter 18 collection. I just love it! You can really see Fearne’s cool, quirky and bold personality in her designs and I am very jealous that she has adult versions of some of the pieces, especially the leopard print tracksuit!

Her baby range goes from 0-12 months and everything has bold prints and slogans on it. When she introduced her collection to us she said she wanted to get across creativity in children, fun and positivity. You can see just how much thought has been put into the designs and the way in which Fearne spoke about her pieces you could see how proud she is of her collection.

For boys and girls aged 12-7 years the creativity focus comes across in a cute pencil design dress, cool tshirt designs and slogan tees such as ‘Make Create, Ta-Da.’ The collection just oozes ‘cool’ with double denim combos, gender neutral jeans, leopard prints, animal prints and the most gorgeous girls party dresses and fur coats. It’s super trendy!

The collections are available online and instore now. Everything is reasonably priced and so well made. Head to Boots Mini Club now to get everything you need for your little one’s Autumn/Winter wardrobe now. A word of warning though…. Your kids will be way trendier than you!

The Boys Summer Wardrobe From AlexAndAlexa.com

Last month before we went to Rhodes I sat on the AlexAndAlexa.com website and picked out pieces for the boys Summer Wardrobe, like I do every season. Their website is full to the brim of gorgeous designer clothes for boys and girls who like to be on trend.

As Oscar is now 8 and a half he likes to choose his own clothes and takes pride in his appearance and has become aware of designer brands and different styles. We sat together and he picked out some of his favourite pieces, obviously I picked for Archie with him being only 3. I also brought a few bits so in the evenings I cam dress them in matching shirts as I am sure by next year Oscar won’t let me get away with it. Ha Ha!

Alex and Alexa also have a huge sale on at the moment where you can pick up loads of top designer bargains with up to 60% off plus a flash sale with an extra 30% off sale items with the promo code: FLASH30

Swimwear

Oscar loves the Hugo Boss swim shorts and picks the same ones every year. He finds them really comfortable and they dry quickly when out of the pool which is a bonus. He has them in light blue and navy and they are £43 but now in their sale they are £30.10. They come in various different colours and are available from 6 months old.

In the above photo both Oscar and Archie have Ray Ban sunglasses on. Alex and Alexa have a huge range of designer shades to protect your little ones eyes. The full range can be found HERE.

We also got him the Dolce & Gabbana Blue Cartoon Beach Print Swim Shorts that were £135 but in the sale are £101.30. Oscar loved the design of the swim shorts as it reminded him of when we went to the Harrods Grotto at Christmas and all of the windows were dressed in different Dolce & Gabbana cartoons. This season in particular they have some really amazing prints and designs on the kidswear.

Another pair of swim shorts that we get every Summer are the Burberry classic swim shorts. They come in blue, navy and red and have a drawstring waist and the material dries really quickly and they wash as good as new. They are £71 a pair and start at size 6 moths old. These seem very popular as we saw a few children wearing them in the pool on holiday.

For Archie, being smaller I love the Moschino bear design that they have had for the last few years. It is really cute. With that in mind I picked him a pair of Moschino Navy Stripe Sailor Bear Print Swim Shorts which he loves and we got lots of comments around the pool about how cute he looked in them. They are £58 a pair now reduced to £40.60. They also have a drawstring waist and fitted perfectly over his swim nappy.

Archie also has a few pairs of the Ralph Lauren swim shorts and wears these to his swimming lessons at home too. He has them in Navy and they were £35 each and are now £24.50. Again they have the drawstring waist and the Ralph Lauren pony detail on the front of the shorts. (In photo above with Oscar in the Hugo Boss swim shorts).

Oscar lives in sliders on holiday during the day so picked himself some Moschino ones that are white with Moschino written in black they are £57. They have a sweet girls version too.

Day Wear

Oscar has a Burberry T-shirt that he wears to the pool which compliments his Burberry swim shorts nicely. At home he wears them with navy jersey shorts or navy chino shorts if we are out somewhere nice for the day. Burberry have lots of nice designs in their T-shirt range.

We also picked out a couple of Hugo Boss T-shirts. One which was a special edition England one for the World Cup which is a smarter alternative to a football shirt. It was £43 and is now £30.10. Even though the World Cup is over it’s a really smart T-shirt which Oscar will continue to wear. The other was a BOSS Blue Graphic Branded T-Shirt.

For Archie I picked a lovely Kenzo T-shirt there are so many lovely designs which made it hard to pick a favourite. A couple of months ago I got a sneak peek of their Autumn Winter collection and its fantastic, so I am excited for that.

Another gorgeous T-shirt for Archie was from Gucci. The Light Grey Green Short Sleeve Retro Logo T-Shirt is an iconic simple design and looks great with grey or navy shorts. The T-shirt is £120 and Oscar has gone on at me all holiday that he wants one so I will have to order one for him too as I know it will get worn time and time again and go with everything.

Archie also lived in his Boss Navy Branded Jelly Shoes. They are very cute and come in a couple of different shades if blue. They were easy to slip on and off in the day. They were £43 now £32.30. Archie also had a pair of Havaiana Kids flip flops with the strap around the ankle which make it easier for him to walk and run in them. They are £16.

Evening Wear

One thing I really love about being on holiday is getting dressed up every evening to go to dinner. It makes such a nice change. In the evenings the boys tend to wear chino short, I always get them in navy and stone colour. Oscar’s stone coloured ones are Burberry from last Summer but as they have a button adjustable waist so they still fit perfectly.

Oscar choose a Gucci polo shirt, he really liked the coloured collar and choose it completely on his own. The Gucci Navy Pique Polo with Rainbow Knit Collar is a really lovely polo shirt with the gold Gucci bee embossed on one side of the chest. The knitted collar is think and luxurious and I have washed the shirt today and it looks like new and washes really well. The polo shirt is £135. Gucci have lots of lovely polo shirts to choose from with fun designs on them.

Another lovely polo shirt is the BOSS Blue and Grey Colour Block Jersey Polo which isn’t available anymore but there are still lots of BOSS polo’s to choose from.

Both the boys have a Burberry Light Blue Mini Camber Check Shirt each which look lovely with either coloured chino shorts. They were £76 and are now £53.20. They will also wear these in the Winter with jeans as well. They also come in other colours and in a long sleeved design for the colder months.

Archie also has Burberry chino shorts in the navy checked design which he wears with a white linen shirt. This season they are available in a stone colour instead. They have a adjustable button waist so in my experience last a long time. The shorts are in the above photo with Oscar in his BOSS polo shirt.

I got Oscar and Archie matching Lacoste Navy Palm Trees Print Ribbed Collar Polo Shirt which have a fun design on them. I got lots of comments about how lovely they looked matching one another. There is a huge saving on these shirts! They were £55 and are now £27.50.

We had a lovely holiday in Rhodes (we got back at 2am this morning) the washing is done and I am now looking forward to the rest of the Summer holidays which will be full of fun!

Remember all of the above mentioned discounts will be even less once you add the promo code: FLASH30 and save an extra 30%!

The Diono Traverze Stroller Review

With our Summer holidays coming up I had been on the look out for a light weight travel friendly stroller with a good recline for when Archie needs to have a nap on holiday and also a stroller with a large basket. He always naps after lunch when we are away and having a good recline on a small stroller was harder to find than I imagined. When we received the Diono Traverze to review about a month ago I was excited to try it out as I had done my research and it ticked all of the boxes I was looking for.

Image result for the diono traverze

When it arrived I got it out of the box and ours is in the Summery ‘Yellow Sulphar Linear’ colour which I love! There are 6 lovely colours to choose from. There was no putting together involved and once out of the box I followed the easy instructions and had the stroller unfolded and was up in seconds. The instant fold is so easy and quick to use, one-handed and the stroller itself folds so small. (Height 60cm, Width 41.5cm and Depth 23.5cm.) It is also so light to carry too at only 12.3lbs.

Our first trip using the Traverze was to Cardiff. We took the boys to the Principality stadium to watch Monster Jam. It was easy to steer through the busy streets of the city and once inside I folded the stroller which was small enough for me to carry through security and to our seats and fitted neatly under my seat not blocking the walk way at all. I found this so easy and much less stressful than travelling with a larger fold stroller as I would have then had to drop it into a designated area and then would have had to queue to go and retrieve it afterwards. Also carrying it up the steep stairs to our seats was easy too as its so light! We also had to park quite far away from the stadium and Archie was tired afterwards and jumped straight in, instead of us having to carry him on the 20 minute walk back to our car at 7pm. On our first trip using the Traverze I was totally sold and could really appreciate having a smaller, light weight stroller. The basket is also huge underneath, which fitted Archie’s carry potty, spare clothes and a few other bits easily.

A couple of weeks ago Oscar went out for the day with his Godfather and his sons to watch the rugby so Greg and I decided to take Archie into London for the day. To be honest I always drive into London as I always get so anxious about getting to a station and it having no lifts and having to carry Archie and a folded stroller on the very steep escalators. Now we have the Traverze we decided to take the train instead. When we got to Knightsbridge there was an escalator and stairs up to the main road, Greg carried Archie and I carried the stroller with no problems at all. The small compact fold also came in useful when we stopped for lunch as I just put the folded stroller under the table out of the way. Again pushing the Traverze through the busy streets of London was a breeze with the smooth rolling, never flat wheels, with shock absorbers and all-wheel suspension. It turns so easy with one hand with the swivel wheels making steering super easy.

The stroller also has a very secure 5-point harness with removable plush pads. The straps are easy to adjust to fit your child and when we were on the train and when getting on and off the trains having Archie comfortable and secure made me less anxiousabout travellin g on the train with him. I will defiantly travel on the trains into London more now that I know it’s so much easier using the Traverze.

During half term we ventured down to Devon for a couple of days. Packing the Traverze in the boot with our bags wasn’t an issue as it takes up only a quarter of my boot. It really is the perfect travel stroller. We went to Durdle Door on the Monday and had a really long walk from the car park to the beach. Once we got to the beach there were around 150 steps down to the beach which was easy with the folded stroller. On the way back up the hill to the car it was so far and we were so glad we took it with us for Archie’s tired little legs.

The long break bar at the back makes it really easy to use in any shoes, even bare feet. The handle is the perfect height as well, I am short at 5ft 2 and it was fine for me and equally Greg is 6ft and found the height fine as well.

The Traverze comes with a rain cover and waterproof travel bag. Once the stroller is in the travel bag it has a telescopic extendable luggage style handle to make pulling it through an airport even easier. It also fits in most overhead cabins on the plane. We go away next month and can’t wait to see how we get on travelling abroad with it! Especially as we have a late flight on the way home so Archie can sleep in the Traverze right up until we board the plane. Don’t worry I will post another review once we have been on holiday.

I absolutely love the Diono Traverze and it has made travelling and days out so much easier! It gets 10 out of 10 from us! The Diono Traverze has an RRP of £250. Mothercare have two exclusive colours, black facet and orange.

Disclaimer: We were gifted the Diono Traverze for the purpose of this review, however all opinions are honest and my own.

Potty Training In A Day!

When Oscar went back to school two weeks ago I had it set in my mind that I would attempt to potty train Archie again. I’ve tried twice before, once last October and once in January. When I say tried this consisted of Archie crying repeatedly for his nappy back and holding his wee for almost five hours until I eventually gave in and put his nappy back on. He obviously wasn’t ready and there was no real need for me to potty train him if it was going to upset and distress him. I even asked a health visitor and she reassured me he would do it when he was ready.

It was so different with Oscar. Oscar was 2 years and 4 months old when I potty trained him, it was easy, he got it quite quickly and that was it. I did start panicking that Archie was 3 years old and we still hadn’t cracked it. It was also easier as there was just Oscar and I stayed at home all week to focus just on potty training. This time around with Archie I had to do it between school runs, swimming lessons, football training and everything else we do during the week.

So when Oscar returned back to school on Tuesday the 24th of April after the Easter break,  I decided that we needed to crack it before the next half term at the end of May and I especially wanted to do it before we go on holiday as I didn’t want to be taking any nappies with us. On the Thursday, the 26th we dropped Oscar to school, came home and I told Archie that the shops have no more nappies and he had to use the potty. At 10am he had an accident and got upset as he didn’t like being wet. Since then he hasn’t had one accident! He just got it straight away. Being that bit older, he understood he needed to wee/poo on the potty and had better bladder control. He also was so proud of himself each time he went on the potty and giving him lots of praise and cuddles really pleased him. We even had to facetime Daddy at work after his first ever wee on the potty as he wanted to show him!

On the first day he held out on doing a number 2 but the next day he was fine and ever since then he has been so good and just lets me know he needs the toilet and sits on his Fisher Price Thomas potty and goes. When he goes to the toilet his Thomas potty plays the theme tune which he absolutely loves. It also lets me know if I’m in another room that he has gone.

For when we are out and about I brought a My Carry Potty, I had one with Oscar and they are great. You simply open it up and let them go to the toilet and then you can shut it and the seal stops it from leaking until your by a toilet to empty and clean it. I also carry a little bag around with me with wipes, spare pants, socks and trousers in it from Annie With Alex.

At night time I had noticed for quite a few months that his nappy was always dry in the morning and he would do a wee within half an hour of being awake. So not to confuse him I brought the Huggies Night Time Pull Ups which have been dry ever night and he gets up in the morning and goes straight on the potty.

Image result for huggies pull ups

I’m so proud of Archie and how well he has done and it just goes to show waiting until he was ready made all the difference!

#Blogmas Day 5: Our Annual Trip To Harrod’s Christmas Grotto 2017

Yesterday we picked up Oscar from school and drove into London to go to the Harrod’s Christmas Grotto 2017. Every year in September I eagerly await the email to let me know when I can book our visit. This year the bookings opened in October and at 9am I got my email and by 9.05 our slot was booked! When booking you pay a £10 deposit per child over 3 years old, under 2’s are free. On the day of your visit to the grotto you get your deposit back to spend on your Harrods reward card. The boys then get to choose a new decoration for the Christmas tree with it.

So we picked Oscar up from school and drove into town and parked in our usual spot. When we got to Harrods we walked around the outside and looked at all of the decorated Dolce & Gabbana windows. They were really good, and had a photo by the huge Christmas Tree. We were a bit early so we then looked around the Toy Kingdom on the third floor which is every child’s idea of heaven.

When we arrived at the grotto which is located right by the Toy Kingdom Oscar presented our ticket and then we went into a roped off area that had Christmas colouring, mini golf and other games and lots of friendly elves to play with. The boys were given green bells to look after and then when the green bells group were called we went through a red curtain into a beautiful room with a huge Christmas tree and two of Santa’s elves.

They told the children all about the magic of Christmas and every child got an ‘Official Elf’ badge and a Harrods gold chocolate coin. The elves were really friendly interacting with the boys asking them what they would like for Christmas. We were then called through to meet the big man himself and Oscar and Archie knocked on the door and Father Christmas greeted them.

He was really nice, congratulating Oscar on learning to ride his bike since he had last seen him and asked him about school and his friends. Archie wasn’t so sure to start with but within minutes was giving Father Christmas a high five and telling him he would like a blue car for Christmas. We then had our annual Christmas photo taken with him (this is our eight year at Harrods).

Oscar and Archie were then given lovely red gift bags with a Harrods teddy inside as their gift. They were over the moon. We said our goodbyes and went to view our photo, which we brought to go with all the others which was £14.50.  The boys also posted their letters to Father Christmas in the special postbox outside.

We then went and brought our Harrods 2017 bear decoration (we buy one every year) and Oscar also chose another bauble. We had a great time and its just so magical and we love it! We always then walk around to Pizza Express for some dinner then drove home. Needless to say the boys were shattered by the time we got home and went straight to bed!

Merry Christmas!

The Bebylux Alexa Group 123 Car Seat Review

A few months ago an email landed in my inbox that really excited me. It was a husband and wife team that had designed a new brand of car seat that is the first official luxury designer car seat on the market. When I went on to their website to take a look for myself I instantly loved the The Bebylux Alexa Group 123 Car Seat. Finally there was a car seat that not only was super safe and met every safety point possible but it is super stylish and fashionable too.

The Bebylux Alexa is a group 1, 2 and 3 car seat for infants from 9 to 36kgs approximately 1.5 to 12 years old. It literally grows with your child and will last for years!

When you have a baby, if your anything like me you look for a stylish changing bag, dress your baby in gorgeous clothes and spend ages finding the perfect pushchair but then car seats pretty much look the same, feel the same and other than different colours and patterns the variety is pretty boring. With the Bebylux it comes in a gorgeous quilted handcrafted deep padded black bicast leather (very Chanel inspired) with your choice of black, white or red stitching to suit your car’s interior. It is the best looking car seat in years and everyone who has seen it in my car has commented on how nice it is.

The Alexa seat comes in four different designs all with the classic quilted bicast leather. There is the Lusso Bianca which has the white stitching and the Lusso Nero which is the one we have with the black stitching which are £349. There is then the Classico Bianca which is just the plain non quilted leather at £295. The Sportivo collection is race car inspired with the Spotivo Rosso having red leather panels and red stitching and the Spotivo Grigio which has grey panels and are £295. Finally there is the Limited Edition Monza which is £449. If you want to go all out you can have a bespoke Bebylux Alexa made for you which can be encrusted in Swarovski Crystals and you can have you child’s name embossed into the headrest, it is very glam!

One of the best features I have found is that the bicast leather doesn’t feel cold in Winter or get hot in Summer making it a comfortable ride for Archie in all temperatures. The bicast leather is also fantastic and easy to keep clean as it can be wiped over leaving it looking as good as new. The bicast leather is also non flammable.

When I got our Bebylux Alexa out of the box it was inside a gorgeous suede dust bag which also doubles up as a tough travel bag if you needed to take the car seat on holiday with you and didn’t want the leather to get scratched or damaged. Anything with a dust bag is normally expensive and luxurious so it is a really nice added touch.

The Alexa was easy to fit using the Isofix points and the top tether which hooks over the seat into the boot which reduces head excursion in an accident. The seat itself is really comfortable and has impact absorbing foam and memory foam base. The seat/frame is absolutely solid and as soon as you pick the seat up you can feel the sturdiness of it and the quality throughout. The frame has an impact stabilising steel frame throughout the spine of the car seat which as a result reduces the forward flex in an incident.

The car seat has four reclining positions and the head rest has five adjustment levels so as you child grows they can still travel in maximum comfort.

I absolutely love everything about the Bebylux Alexa especially how it is one of the safest car seats on the market and by far the most stylish! The car seats are available now online or are stocked in Harrods.

The Alexa special features are:

  • ECE R44-04 approved

  • ISOFIX and NON-ISOFIX compatible

  • GROUP 123 ( 9 – 36 KG / 9 Months upto 12 Years)

  • Impact absorbing top tether belt tensioning system

  • STEK : 3 Levels of Advanced Side Impact Protection

  • 4 point recline positions

  • 5 point headrest adjustment

  • High quality non flammable bicast leather coverings

  • Easy wipe material

  • Integrated 5 point harness

  • Harness is removed for stage 2 and 3t

  • Tested by TUV to ECE R44/04

  • European Safety Standard

  • Additional Headrest Padding

Disclaimer: We were gifted the Bebylux Alexa for the purpose of this review, however all opinions are honest and my own.

The New Quinny ZAPP X – One Pushchair, Endless Possibilities

Last week Archie and I headed into Covent Garden, London to check out the new Quinny ZAPP X – One Pushchair, Endless Possibilities. We arrived at the ‘pop up’ shop which was amazing and inside was an array of the ZAPP’s in lots of different colours and combinations.

My first impressions on giving the ZAPP X the once over was how light it was yet still really sturdy and just how practical it is from using it with a newborn right up until your little one is three. The whole stroller changes with one simple click and the combination possibilities are endless. With a newborn you can click on the max-cosi car seat, use a snug cocoon or the carrycot and then for the toddler stage there is a two-way toddler seat and the one click system makes it easy if you want to change the direction of the toddler seat. Even the wheel-configuration and push bar can be altered to suit you too.

I absolutely love the new customisation tool at www.quinny.com which means you can create the perfect stroller for you and your baby’s style. For instance I love the ZAPP X in the two shades of blue which is perfect for me as a mum of boys. Although I love the grey and pink combination if I had a little girl.

The ZAPP X is available in three different configurations, so there will always be one to suit everyone. There is the ZAPP Felex Plus, the ZAPP Flex and the ZAPP Express. Overall the ZAPP X really means that you can ‘Walk Your Way’.

The ZAPP Flex Plus is their ‘deluxe’ model with an RRP of £335 which for the high end stroller that it is, it is a fantastic price. It is perfect from birth with the lightweight Lux Carrycot and has four large puncture proof tyres to ensure your baby gets the smoothest of rides. The Flex toddler seat reclines both ways and the fold of the stroller is so compact making it perfect for travelling as well.

The ZAPP Flex is a super easy to steer stroller and so lightweight. Once again the fold is so compact, taking up minimal boot space and great for travelling. On this middle there are three medium wheels which makes it easy to steer through small spaces, perfect for using it in the city! It has an RRP of £295 and can be used from birth with the Lux Carrycot, a maxi cosi pebble car seat and the from birth cocoon.

The ZAPP XPRESS has an RRP of £195 and to be honest I couldn’t  believe how cheap it is considering the quality if the stroller is so high. It can be used from birth with the Lux Carrycot, a maxi cosi pebble car seat and the from birth cocoon. It has three medium wheels and the unique XPRESS seat with relax mode and once again folds so small.
The ZAPP range also has lots of fantastic accessories available from cup holders, to footmuffs to winter liners to make being out and about with your ZAPP X an easy experience.

I absolutely love the range and its easy to see that the range of the ZAPP’s are going to be extremely popular!

Oscar & Archie’s Photo Shoot With Stokke & AlexandAlexa.com

We brought our first ever Stokke Tripp Trapp when Oscar was small and then went on to use used it when Archie was born with the newborn seat. I then brought the Stokke Steps as Oscar got annoyed that he had to share his Tripp Trapp with Archie.  In addition to a wide of variety of colours and accessories, Stokke now offers complimentary engraving of the back of their Tripp Trapp chair with your child’s name, adding that extra special personal touch.

I first saw a personalised Tripp Trapp in the flesh last month when Oscar and Archie were both models for the collaboration between Stokke and Alexandalexa.com for Baby London which you can see HERE. Alexandalexa.com sell the most beautiful kids clothes with a huge range of designers on offer. Both Oscar and Archie were kitted out for head to toe in brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Marc Jacobs, Adidas, Bang Bang Copenhagen, Stella McCartney, Tao & Friends, Veja and Zoobug Sunglasses. They both looked so cute!

We had such a fun day and the boys loved being part of the shoot, strutting their stuff and being spoilt by the lovely ladies at Azaria! We got to meet up with some other lovely bloggers/instagramers and their gorgeous children; Jessica from Lilypod & Sweetpea, Chelsea with Harlen and Harlow, Lisa from LeeLee Loves and Becky from Wishes & Wellies.

Stokke then kindly sent each of the boys a personalised Tripp Trapp in the hazy grey colour which matches our kitchen perfectly!  Archie uses his with the baby set and a star print cushion which is so easy to wipe and keep clean and Oscar uses it as a chair at the table, keeping my lovely new chairs clean! 🙂

I love that with the Tripp Trapp they grow with your child starting with the newborn seat, to the highchair using the baby set, to a chair for bigger children and even adults can sit on it too. The great design means it doesn’t look out of place and blends in with our other furniture.

The boys love their personalised Tripp Trapps and using them everyday! The Tripp Trapps are £169 and the engraving is free of charge!

BigJigs Heritage Collection Mallard Train Set Review

I was really excited last month when I received the email from BigJigs Toys to let us know we had been chosen to be in their BigJigs Play Patrol. I had read the reviews of the other bloggers that were chosen last year and over the years with Oscar I myself have brought quite a few bits off of their website.

Archie is now at the age where he loves cars and trains and we have kept Oscar’s play table from when he was obsessed with his wooden train set and both of the boys have been playing with their new Heritage Collection Mallard Train Set since it arrived.

If you haven’t come across BigJigs Toys before they sell traditional wooden toys that most people love. There is something about wooden toys that I would always choose something like that over a brightly coloured plastic toy. Also when buying a gift for someone I think its always much nicer to receive a wooden toy, especially when the BigJigs Toys are designed here in the UK!

Our first toy we were sent to review is the Heritage Collection Mallard Train Set, like I mentioned above. There is something about opening the train set for the first time and the smell of wood fills the room, its lovely. Oscar and Archie were eager to get the set out and Oscar followed the drawing to put the track together. Within the train set there is a 42 play pieces which consist of track, your Mallard train and carriages, a viaduct, two junctions, a ticket office, four people, two houses, two cars and four trees. This Mallard Train Set is licensed and helps to support the National Railway Museum in York which is fantastic. I remember visiting there as a child with my parents and grandparents as my little brother was obsessed with trains! Additional accessories are available to expand this set and you can add lots of track and different trains. Also with the BigJigs track it is compatible with other brands of wooden train track which is good if like us you have collected up different bits over the years.

The Mallard Train Set is £31.99 and you are getting a lot of pieces for your money. It is so well made and robust too. The boys have played with it non stop since it arrived and having a wooden train set out is now a permanent fixture again in the playroom. It all fits perfectly back in the box again which you can then take out and out or when you visit family with you.

The boys love this set and it one hundred percent gets a big thumbs up from us.

Disclaimer: We were sent the train set for the purpose of this review, however all opinions are honest and my own.
